Pixel this week Is a bulletin in my weekly-weekly-cured for designers, UX people, Devs, and anyone who builds digital products that can be accessed, inclusive, can be used (and let’s be honest, extraordinary). I share articles, tools, inspiration, and interesting resources that I found for a week. This is Archive version. If you prefer to get it in your inbox (plus told when I published another article), subscribe to my bulletin.
The myth is proud of “It’s hard to get a yellow and purple palette”
There is no such thing as inaccessible colors. This is all about the combination. Yes, even yellow!
This week, I have decided to cancel the old myth that “Accessibility limits color choices.” I like yellow (did you see my hair?) And Purple (Have you ever seen the color palette of my website?). Together, they prove that you can design a palette that is fun, enthusiastic, and easily accessible with what is called the color “complicated”.
I built six pallets that have been tested by WCAG to show that accessibility does not limit creativity. And I change the process into a complete tutorial (with video) so you can learn how to build a color palette that can be accessed yourself in the Figma.

I also designed a new icon for the accessibility department on my veranda and, I was working on a new ADHD sticker!

WCAG vs EAA: Understanding where the wcag stops and where EAA starts (8 minutes) by Stark. So yes, you can pass the AA wcag and still fail to comply with the obligations of digital products EAA … EAA exceeds technical compliance: it requires products to work smoothly with auxiliary technology and can be used throughout the full customer’s life cycle. And EAA compliance also requires organizational readiness: instill accessibility into the company’s culture and operations. As we do for privacy and security. Also as shown by Piccia Neri in the comments, a small mistake in the article: He said “EAA is law”. Remember not. This is an European direction that must be transmitted as law in each country. The difference is big because each country will have a different nuance in their own local law.
Interesting articles that caught my attention
Do not change the company – reflect it (6 minutes) you cannot fight the company’s culture. If you cannot convince them to care about accessibility, you need to show how accessibility helps them do what they have cared about: Speed, Trust, UX, etc. Use existing tools and workflows, and show how it helps the team to do their work better, no more difficult. By Ted Drake.
Accessibility and agent web retail site (8 minutes) often fails blind buyers, does not offer Alt texts, or unclear in product drawings, which make risky choices. Léonie Watson explained that the description of AI images might be imperfect, but, they can still help. He also explained how AI agents can now act as personal spending, help find, filter, and add items to the basket. This is clearly an interesting change. This will also be an interesting challenge for accessibility: What happens if the company replaces their traditional website with agents that produce the information that someone wants in the format they like?
Foundation: Types of Assistance Technology and Adaptive Strategies (12 Menin) Auxiliary technology is not just a screen reader. Demelza Feltham presents a list of very interesting auxiliary technologies: from braille displays to smart glasses to hearing aids, eye tracking, speech-to-text, time regulator, browser reader mode and more.
Your underlines style (4 minutes) Listen to Jeremy, we must not rely on our own color to show that there is something interactive. Make your link beautiful and accessible, underline them.
Curiosity Cabinet: Non-Design Rabbit Hole/Technology that I enjoy
The child must see this: smart videos for curious thoughts of all ages, regulated in various categories. I like random knowledge, so this is a good rabbit hole.
Inspiration: A pleasant experiment, beautiful art, and great ideas
Reuben Wu draws air geometry with drones and laser across remote landscapes, and it’s beautiful
Possies oh see I’m not sad, I just need a funny font, with flowers. Is this a good idea for a copy? Absolutely not. But, I like good typographic experiments, and see more color fonts!
BX Museum repository artifacts brand curated, from magazines, print advertisements, billboards, packaging and more, which allows you to follow the evolution of the brand from time to time. I like LEGO!

Useful tools & resources
Agoodmovietowatch a tool that claims that they have traced the best on every streaming service so you can watch what is actually good. Good means “at least 7/10 on IMDB and 70% on Rotten Tomatoes. Then chosen and reviewed by humans, no algorithm involved.” Not sure how trusting this can be, but it can be fun to find new content.
SCRT.link online tools, to share links that only function once, and then destroy yourself. What will you send with this?
A large -live canvas place, where you can paint all over the world. There is no moderation, so, maybe there are some strange things there. If you want to know about Lukemburg
